We've also got lots more new colours in the super-bulky Malabrigo Aquarella, which are amazing! Two skeins makes a great bulky hat, or small scarf, and it's so shimmery!

Also, in exciting news, a brand new shipment of Tanis sock yarn has arrived! Have we mentioned how beautiful this stuff is yet?

Earth Shattering Sock News!

Hello sock knitters of Toronto (and the greater GTA area!). We have the most exciting sock knitting news that this fine city has seen in a good long time...since the toe-up sock perhaps...

Tanis fiber arts sock yarn has come to the Naked Sheep!

This suptuously squishy fingering weight yarn is handdyed in a stunning array of subtly variegated colourways (all with very cute names). Tanis is a small Canadian company based in Quebec, and has just made the jump into Ontario this January.

Our first shipment from Tanis arrived just a few weeks ago, but supplies are already running very low. If you'd like to test out the smooshiest sock yarn to hit Toronto in a very long time, we suggest dropping by as soon as possible!

We have some top secret (and super exciting) plans in store for our favourite new yarn, so we'll keep you posted on all of our Tanis sock knitting endeavours.

Hope to see you soon!

Juliet!

We recently received one of the most beautiful yarns on the planet - Rowan Cocoon. It is a nice bulky yarn oh so lovely to knit with! The colours are out of this world and has a very nice sheen. It took me a bit of time to decide which pattern to choose to make a sample for the shop and thankfully I decided on Juliet. Here she is on our mannequin:

And on a real live model that looks like it was totally made for her:

This is Sarah - Emily's sister and when she put this on, I was speechless - it looks so good on her (if you knew me, this is no easy feat!) This sweater is knit top down, has a very easy lace pattern and looks good on all body types. Furthermore, you can knit it with a summer OR winter yarn, add buttons or make it longer. While we are at it - why not add longer sleeves? The possiblities of making this sweater fit YOU are endless.

Loyalty Program & Stitch Markers & New Books!!!

I am a huge believer in the loyalty card program and have re-introduced it back at the Sheep. It is very simple, for every $25.00 you spend before taxes, you get a card with a pinkie sheep stamped on it! When there are 12 stamps on the card, you get 10% off your next purchase. The only exception is, class fees are not eligible. Simple, non?

We also have some really cute stitch markers the Zephyr Girls made for us:

Naked Sheep Stitch Markers

They are $15.99 and come in a super cute tin. I LOVE them. Good news doesn't end here - we have some of the Zephyr Girls patterns:

- Juliet
- 28 30
- Green Gable
- Rusted Root
- Marigold

Great things keep coming to us!! New books:

Thank you for your Support!

Just wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to all that have supported me and the Naked Sheep team since I took over running this fabulous fiber shop in August 2008. The last four months have been filled with so much fun that it doesn't even feel like real work. I think what makes it feel so great is all the awesome folks who have walked through my shop door. I hope you feel as welcome as much as I enjoy talking and knitting with you all.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I hope 2009 is filled with such fiber fun as it was in 2008.

Knit on!

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone's holidays were awesome and you are not finding it too hard to get back into the swing of things. We just got over our boxing week sale, inventory night and thankfully, things are back to normal at the Sheep - well, as normal as it can be!

We are expecting some new colours of Classic Elite Princess (we can't seem to keep it in its' shelf!), Lush and some amazing new Alpaca Sox colours. Oneof the new yarns include Classic Elite Duchess - which is the same fiber content as Princess, but knits up to 3.5"/inch. Lovely stuff!

Knit Nights start this Wednesday = January 7th, 6ish to 10ish. I so missed my knitters the last few weeks and glad I am only two days away from a fab evening. Can't wait to see everyone.

Knit on.
