YARN SWAP FEB 28TH!!!

The Sheep is hosting it’s first ever YARN SWAP on Saturday February 28th, 6pm. We are serving pizza, refreshments and loads of fiber fun.

Please RSVP at info@nakedsheep.ca to let us know you are coming.

Purpose:

Tired of looking at the same yarn in your stash? On a self-imposed yarn diet? Feel guilty buying new yarn? Well - we have a solution for you. Come to the shop on Feb 28th with your yarn you once loved to trade for new yarn to crush on.

Rules

Normally I don’t like rules nor do I like to follow them, but in the interest of fairness, there are two rules:

throw all your yarn/books/notions on the free to all table.

OR

for those items you want to trade equally for, barter with others at the event.

Well, I guess there is one more Go home happy!

New Shop Samples

We have been very busy knitting up a storm lately at the Sheep making some awesome samples to show off some of the great yarn we have! Firstly, here is the Pure and Simple Top Down Women's Bolero #284

DSC00469

Yarn: Araucania Nature Wool, Colour # 422, Teal
Number of Skeins: 4
Size Made: Medium
Needle Size: Addi Circular 4.0mm

Verdict - LOVE IT!!!! This yarn is a bit scratchy at first, but softens up considerably after blocking. I totally recommend this pattern and yarn.

Next up:

Two projects actually. First:

Pattern: Foliage from knitty.com
Yarn: Jo Sharp Silkroad Ultra
Number of balls: 2

Turned into a slouchy beret type hat using this yarn. It looks awesome and you only need 2 balls of this luxury yarn. Not bad

The Naked Sheep Cowl! Free pattern with purchase of one ball of Rowan Big Wool or equivalent yarn. This was super easy and super fast to knit and keeps your neck super warm. Do I like the word super? Yep, I think I super do!!!

Believe it or not, we have another one.

DSC00472

Pattern: Aran Gauntlets
Yarn: Aslan Trends Guanaco
Skeins: .25 of a skein!

Verdict - LOVE this yarn too. It is so nice and you can probably make two pairs with one skein because you get SO much yardage in one skein.

Up next? Green Gable, the child's version of the top down bolero and silk garden socks! wow - we never stop knitting.

Knit on!

Namaste Bags!

Look what just arrived - Namaste Zuma Bag:

A description of the Zuma bag from Namaste: With a unique shape and fresh appeal, the adorable Zuma bag is a "must have" for the fashion conscious. This bag opens wide and closes fast with 3 well-placed magnets. The interior features 3 pockets (1 zipper pocket and 2 open-top pockets) and the rear exterior has a handy zipper pocket for quick access. The front pocket boasts an accordian-style design for multi-compartment storage of whatever tickles your fancy. How great...how Zuma!

A description of the Laguna bag from Namaste: Exterior Pockets? Check. Interior Pockets? Check. Zippered interior divider and detachable shoulder strap? Check. Check. Organizing your craft, work, or kid stuff with your personal items is just another day at the beach with Namaste's Laguna bag. The Laguna has 5 metal feet on the bottom and strong magnetic closures at the top.
